I receive many requests to use my work in publications and other media, particularly photos involving birds and wildlife. As such, I've outlined the basics of my licensing process here so that prospective licensees know what to expect. Scientific use

I generally provide photographs for use in scientific publications and presentations at no cost. All I ask is that researchers and presenters contact me, explain intended use, and provide credit for my work wherever used. Copies of finished work using my photos are much, much appreciated as well!

Magazines and other print media

I'm glad to license my images for use in magazines and various other print media, whether intended for institutional communities or subscribers. Previously, I've been fortunate to have my work featured in publications such as Northwestern Magazine, Northwestern University's official alumni publication.

My licensing cost for photos printed at standard sizes within publications typically starts at $100 per photo, though this may vary depending on quantity or special cases such as covers. I'm also open to negotiating compensation through a blanket retainer fee if applicable.

Marketing and retail products

I generally do not license my wildlife work for direct commercial use in marketing or products, with the exception of organizations that benefit conservation or research. Please contact me if you would like to discuss further.
