I'm Collin, a recent graduate from Northwestern University studying environmental sciences and ecology. While I've pursued professional photography for almost 8 years now, my specializations are actually in ecological research with specific emphasis on birds. I'm originally from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where I grew up surrounded by wildlife and first realized that I enjoyed creative photography through UAV-based work. In Chicago, I diversified from portraiture to street photography because I enjoyed observing the way people interacted with built environments. I've more recently started a journey in wildlife photography as a way to connect with local species and their navigations within that same built environment of the Chicago area. For me, photographing birds is both an art and a meaningful contribution to community science documentation through platforms like eBird. I look forward to seeing how my work continues to diversify as I plan on entering grad school to study bird populations in changing and vulnerable habitats. I plan on updating this site soon with research sections, so stay tuned!

Portraiture Philosophy

My portrait work most frequently consists of outdoor photography, with subjects including (but not limited to) students/graduates, couples, and families. I have both wedding and indoor studio experience, though as a highly mobile student I often don't have access to my larger lighting equipment and instead find the most enjoyment in taking advantage of natural lighting in fleeting moments.

I pride myself on providing a casual and very affordable portrait experience without sacrificing quality, especially at a time where portrait sessions can cost hundreds of dollars.
